British Grand Prix – Qualifying
Track temperature = 30°C; air temp=20°C; wind=2.6m/s; humidity=69%; pressure=1008.2mBar
Batch 1: CK, FM, PF, CA, JM
CK – sector 1 = 25.8; S2=61.4; S3=1:22.207 = provisional pole, of course
FM – S1=26.0; S2=61.6; 1:22.495 = pP2
PF – S1=27.1; S2=64.1; 1:25.566 = pP3
CA – S1=26.9; S2=63.4; 1:24.576 = pP3
JM – S1=25.4; S2=60.0; 1:20.382 = pP1
Batch 2 = NK, NH, TM, MW, TS
NK – S1=26.4; S2=62.5; 1:23.583 = pP4
NH – S1=25.8; S2=61.3; 1:22.117 = pP2
TM had an engine change and will be penalised … except he’s pulled into the pit lane instead of setting a time, so he’ll be right at the back
MW (and his burned thigh) – S1=25.9; S2=61.3; 1:21.997 = pP2
TS – S1=25.8; S2=60.6 (that’s promising); 1:21.114 = pP2, 0.7s behind JM
Batch 3 = DC, RB, JV, RS, GF
DC – S1=25.8; S2=61.2; 1:22.108 = pP4
RB – S1=25.3; S2=60.2 (good for P2?); 1:20.906 = pP2, 0.524s behind JM
JV – S1=25.9; S2=60.9 (P4?); 1:21.352 = pP4, well ahead of teammate FM
RS – S1=25.6; S2=60.6 (P4?); 1:21.191 = pP4
GF – S1=25.4 (ahead of JM); S2=60.4 (slower); 1:21.010 = pP3 – he lost a lot in S3
Batch 4 = JT, JB, MS, KR, FA
JT – S1=25.4; S2=60.2 (P2?); 1:20.459 = pP2, just 0.077s behind JM
JB – S1=25.5; S2=60.0 (pole?!); 1:20.207 = pP1 by 0.175s!! ![]()
MS – S1=25.5 (0.001s slower than JB); S2=60.5 (P4?); 1:21.275 = pP8 – very poor S3
KR will be penalised 10 grid spots for an engine change; S1=25.1 (very quick); S2=59.6 (pole?); 1:19.932 = pP1 by 0.275s
FA – S1=25.2; S2=59.6 (pole?); 1:19.905 = P1
There’s a rumour that Button will go to Ferrari next season?!

bah. Poor Kimi.
Yeah, I’m surprised to see him set such a fast time knowing he’s going to be penalised … but then he suffered the same fate in the previous race and went on to finish 2nd.
