The “Silly Season” is under way, now that DC has signed and is staying with Red Bull. The expected shuffle looks like this:

  • JB from BAR to Williams (almost certainly) or Ferrari?
  • NH from Williams to Sauber (which will be BMW)
  • FM from Sauber to Ferrari
  • RB from Ferrari to BAR

Other rumours: KR to BMW-Williams?

There’s a minute’s silence in memory of those killed in this week’s terrorist bomb attacks in London.

[Yesterday's qualifying notes]

Grid: FA, [KR*] JB, JM, JT, RB, GF, TS, RS, MS, JV, MW, KR, DC, NH, CK, FM, NK, CA, PF, TM.

CK pits from P14 – that’s an early stop – 10.5s stop
TM parks his Jordan off track too – that’s both Jordans out! … no, wait – looks like he’s still going (judging from the timing chart)

13: KR right on MS’s tail, who’s also right up under JT
We didn’t see it because TSN only showed a couple of seconds of the minute’s silence, but the community report that Max Moseley, JV and even JB were all chatting during it!!! :(
