Opera Quadruples Download Rates

More than three million new users have downloaded the Opera browser in the two weeks since the company launched its free browser. The average daily download rate quadruples the previous rate achieved before the release of Opera 8.5.

Excellent news … and yet I can’t understand why so many people are downloading now it’s ad-free but wouldn’t use it before – it’s not like the ads were intrusive. Oh well, I’m just glad people are using a good, standards-compliant browser; hopefully these are IE users who have seen the light.
