Palm Tungsten E Handheld
I think I may have already mentioned that a friend gave me a Palm Tungsten E a couple of weeks ago, but now I’ve dumped all my data and toys over from my old m130, I decided it was time to find out what else it could do.
I downloaded a heap of toys from PalmGear: 1st Aid; 2005 Racing Schedules; Analoge Uhr 1.8.0 (analogue clock); AsciiChart 2.0.4; Battery Panel 0.02; Bubble Wrap 1.0; F1 Season 2005 HiRes 3.17; HAL9000 1.1; North America Area Codes Pocket Directory Database 4.0 (requires Town Compass DataViewer; included); Palm Biorhythms 3.0; PDA Check; TimeOMat (english) 1.0 [similar to HowLongTo]; TimeSync XT 1.01 [run TimeSync XT Setup.exe; nothing to install on PDA]; TipMe 1.3 [only install tipme-english-hi.prc]; Yet Another Unit Converter (YAUC) 1.2.2
Also: AvantGo (MyAvantGo); DST Panel; Tour Canada v.1.5 – Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary
PocketTop (for my wireless keyboard) is on a CD … somewhere! … except it’s not compatible with PalmOS5, and the company is no longer supporting the kbd/sw
Copied over from m130: BigClock; ChemTable; TipTap.
Unfortunately I had problems with these:
- Bkgammon is only in black & white, and doesn’t seem very happy
- HowLongTo gives a fatal exception and the PDA has to be reset!
- Tube2 requires a registration code, but I didn’t get one (or maybe I did and I lost it?) when I downloaded the free London map they released after the Tube bombings back in June

[...] I posted about downloading software for my new PDA (I wrote it a few days ago but it was still sitting as Draft until this morning – d’oh!) but now I want to track down the official Palm software that comes with the Tungsten|E. Unfortunately my friend who donated the Palm to me didn’t get the software CDs when she bought it, which is part of the reason she wanted to pass it on. [...]
