Friday Factoids #1 in a series of more than one
As well as the new “Top Ten Tuesday“, I thought I’d start “Friday Factoids” – somewhere I can dump useless snippets of facts (or fact-like substances).
I guess you can blame Peter Cook (or rather E.L. Wisty) because I was listening to the “Do you want to know an interesting fact?” sketch earlier.
So, do you want to know an interesting factoid? Good; did you know that the correct term for something shaped like the letter H is zygal?
Or that “parachute” is from the French for “fall-preventing”?
OK, one more for good measure: did you know that the Queen sent her first email in 1976?
