BrainBench
I took three of the free BrainBench tests a few months ago:

There are a whole heap of free tests available for the next little while; I think (time permitting) I’d like to do:
- C
- Computer Fundamentals (Win 2000)
- CSS2
- E-Commerce Concepts
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
- HTML 4.0
- Information Technology Security Fundamentals
- Internet Concepts
- Internet Technology Fundamentals
- JavaScript
- JavaScript 1.5
- MS Project 2000
- MS Windows 2000
- Project Management
- Software Quality Assurance
- XHTML 1.1
- XML
- XML Concepts
If only I had a spare 3 days to get through them all!

I only scored 3.77 (some of that stuff I’ve not had to remember since university!) but it said I “Scored higher than 85% of all previous test takers.”
Wow, the Project Management test was tough.

I only scored 3.66 (some new stuff, some mathematical errors) but the surprising thing is I scored higher than 90% of all previous test takers!!
Strong Areas: Quality, Cost, Schedule, Contracts. Weak Areas: Risk (which I’ve never really done much of before).
The EDI test was hard – not tough to answer because it asked about stuff I’d not done recently (like the PM test above), but because some of the questions didn’t make sense! Here’s an example:
A company’s strategic plan has implementation of EDI as one of its major goals for this fiscal year. The feasibility of implementing EDI and to present a report of your findings to the company’s Technology Steering Committee.
That second part’s not even a sentence!
Anyway, I scored 3.77, higher than 99% of previous examinees!

Score = 3.29; scored higher than 96% of previous examinees.
It didn’t help that Abby had a mini freak-out (there was another cat outside!) and I missed a couple of questions.

They missed a possible answer to this question:
When designing a plan for estimating the defective rate of a software population, the sample size depends on which two of the criteria listed above?
Answer: time & money!
