The Lamb Lies Down … in Toronto

Kerri, Andy and I went to see The Musical Box last night. They’re a (Gabriel-era) Genesis “re-creation” band, which means they do exact reproductions of the original Genesis concerts. We saw them last year doing Selling England By The Pound, which was amazing, so we jumped on tickets as soon as they announced they were doing The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway at Massey Hall (where Genesis had performed The Lamb back in 1973).

The good: The show was amazing – the sound quality was great (as usual for Massey Hall) and their performance was spot on.
The bad: The guy next to me who insisted on singing … badly … and not quietly.
The ugly: Getting hosed on a $80 ticket that I sold to a tout for $10!

We went for a beer and nibbles afterwards; both Kerri and Andy said they’d enjoyed it, even though they didn’t really know the album.

  2. Sounds like the show was good! I think I paid about $45 american to see them but it was worth it. It’s not like you will ever get to see the real Genesis put this show on.
