BBC Motorsport News reports “Belgian Grand Prix ‘cancelled’”!

“The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa has been cancelled after Bernie Ecclestone pulled out of a bid to try to promote the race, say reports in Belgium.”

Isn’t it just a little bit of a conflict of interest that the guy who owns/runs Formula One (and therefore the calendar of races) was trying to buy his way into a circuit, and now that he’s pulled out they’re going to be dropped.

Spa is a great circuit – why can’t Bernie try blackmailing a sucky circuit like Bahrain?

Still, at least it’s not Silverstone that he’s picking on this year!
