Neat new feature
I have wondering for ages (since I started my own blog) how people are supposed to handle comments – if you want to reply to a comment should you do it in the blog entry’s comments and/or via email to the person who posted? Well, I’ve found the answer!
By complete fluke (I was replying to “Fed up with Java, switching to a new language” – it’s funny) and discovered a “subscribe” option. A quick Google search later and I found the Subscribe to Comments 2.0 plugin for WordPress. It’s installed now, so all you have to do is select the tick-box (aka checkbox) and comments posted against your comment will be emailed to you! There’s even an option to “unsubscribe” if/when you want to turn this off.
Update: There’s an option to have the tick-box checked by default, which I’ll turn on – I suspect most people want to know if there’s a reply to their comment – and an option let anyone (not just a commenter) subscribe, which is off for now but I’ll probably turn it on in the new template/layout that I’m (slowly) working on.
