Malaysian Grand Prix – Friday practice #2
Kubica is first to post a time – 1:38.515
(Fastest time in the first practice session was Wurz’s 1:34.946)
7mins: Wurz 1:38.107
8mins: Massa runs off through the kitty litter but rejoins
10mins: Wurz 1:37.860
12mins: Raikkonen 1:36.132
14mins: Davidson spins his Honda; looks like he’s stalled it, as the yellow flags come out
19mins: Wow, they’ve finally got AD’s car off track and removed the yellows – and it only took the marshalls 5 minutes!
29mins: Liuzzi messes up the entry to the pit lane and takes to the grass – d’oh! It could be a balance problem though – he was saying earlier (on the pit-car radio) that the front was too grippy and the rear lacked grip
30mins: Raikkonen is still fastest with his 1:36.132 he set a while ago
33mins: Alonso posts 1:35.851
34mins: Montoya’s McLaren is stopped in the mouth of the pit lane exit – he’s out the car and walking back
34mins: Ide runs wide, into the gravel and out again
34mins: Montoya takes the rear jack and drags his car back over the line, so now the team are allowed to touch it – before JM moved it, they’ve have been “on track” and therefore penalised
39mins: Alonso reports to the team that his Renault is feeling very good
45mins: Alonso’s 1:35.851 still tops the times
50mins: Just Webber left of the 28 drivers
52mins: Montoya spins in the same spot that Davidson went off; JM recovers and continues though
53mins: Wurz puts in 1:35.388 in his Williams
60mins: chequered flag is out, with Wurz top of the timings
Davidson steals P1 with a time of 1:35.041 (he’d started his flying lap before the flags came out)
Fastest of the non-Friday drivers is Alonso (overall 3rd fastest) with 1:35.806

[...] Even though I followed both the first and second Friday practice sessions, and qualifying yesterday, and yet I still don’t know what the grid will look like. [...]
