Everyone else is off today

The next time the company says we’re taking Friday as a stat day and the rest of Ontario is taking the Monday, I’m working from home! It took almost 2½ hours to get in this morning!

I checked the TTC website last night and jotted down the Sunday service times for the Pape bus – only two problems there: (1) the TTC are operating Saturday service today, not Sunday’s, and (2) the schedule is for the #25, not the 25D, which means the bus only goes half as far as I need.

OK, so I get back on the subway and head over to Finch. From there I can get a Viva Pink bus across to work … except the Pink only runs Monday to Friday, and today’s Saturday service so I have to take the Blue bus north, change, and take the Purple bus east. Ugh!

Biggest gripe of the day though: TTC and YRT (who operate Viva) staff – when you see people standing at a stop, waiting for a bus you know isn’t running today, why not tell them? Instead of waiting for them to ask, you could volunteer the information – being helpful won’t kill you.

p.s. The other problem – nowhere’s open for lunch! Guess I’ll be living on chocolate today. Awww :)
