Not more sick hardware – please!
The server started making a loud humming noise yesterday (while I was installing a new hard drive in the games PC) and it’s still noisy this morning. I think it’s the power supply – probably the fan – but I can’t see what I can do to fix it. I’ve used my air duster to clean them out as best I can; the noise changes pitch briefly (presumably as the air changes the fan’s speed) but it returns to that worrying noise.
I guess I should check out prices of a new >550W power supply.
