WordPress upgrade pains
I’ve been trying to get the new WordPress upgrade (v2.1) to work but there’s been a significant change in how it handles links (now called the blogroll) which has meant that I’ve had to disable all my blogroll until I can work out what’s broken.
I wrote a few brief comments about it in the sysadmin blog – what I don’t understand is how there’s no mention of this problem anywhere (i.e. Google doesn’t find any mentions) and yet this update has been available for about a week. I can’t be the only one to have encountered this, surely?
Maybe it’s something to do with one the plugins or the theme I’m using? I’ll do the updates of them first and see if the problem persists; if it does, I’ll try deactivating them all (and then turning them back on one at a time) to see if I can isolate the cause.
This wasn’t how I’d hoped to spend my Sunday afternoon.
WordPress plugins & updates
There’s a new version of WordPress out (v2.1, aka “Ella”) and it reminded me that I should update the plugins I use too.
Below is a list (mostly/exclusively for my benefit) of the WP plugins that I need to update. It would be really nice if there was a tool which would let me know when updates are available for any plugins (or themes, etc.) that I use. Le sigh. I guess in the meantime I could use Watch That Page to let me know if the homepage for any of the plugins gets updated. Read more
