Pet peeve
It bugs me when people talk about “allocating resources” when they mean “assigning people” – it makes it sound like the professionals employed by (any) company are simply a commodity, a square peg than be placed into any square hole, or round hole given sufficient pressure. If your company looks on you and your co-workers as “resources” then I bet you feel truly valued and appreciated. Resources are things like money, equipment or the like – things which we need in order to do our job, things which won’t object to being called resources.
