Malaysian Grand Prix – Qualifying

It’s hot out in Malaysia! Will the Honda drivers make it through the first session after a dismal practice session?

Kovalainen is in the T-car (the spare car).
Raikkonen did not have an engine change so no penalty.

Button is off the pace – 1:35.513 puts him in P6 … but that’s a better showing than yesterday

Looks like a little confusion in the Honda pits as Barrichello makes a quick stop – he should be able to post one quick lap though

RB only manages P19 so he won’t make it through to Q2
Bottom six are: P17=Speed; 18=Davidson; 19=Barrichello; 20=Wurz; 21=Albers; 22=Sutil.
Apparently Wurz had a gearbox problem and Barrichello was in the T-car.

Q2: Qualifying Session #2
Alonso 1:34.057 – that’s quicker than his pace in Q1
Looks like it’s clouding over a bit; air temp is 38°C with 50% humidity and winds of just 0.2m/s, so if it does rain then it’ll take a while to clear
Button is down in P16, over 2secs off the pace :(

The 10 drivers competing for pole are: Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Massa, Kubica, Heidfeld, Trulli, Rosberg, Webber & Schumacher.
Interestingly some are on hard tyres – even some teammates are on different compositions.
