Taking the day off

I’m taking today off to use up some of the hours I’ve banked over the past few crazy weeks, but somehow I’ve still got a long list of things to get done today, both for work and personal chores.

  • Upload some info about the imminent badminton competition
  • Send emails to follow up on meetings from yesterday afternoon
  • Post a request for help re: PC audit tool [post]
  • Install Unix on the old laptop [installed Solaris 10]
  • Nastaran will be pleased to see that I also went for a walk :)
  • Document my mid-year appraisal
  • Finish my blog entry about Spirit of Toronto [posted]
  • Finish ripping my Marillion collection to the MP3 server {bumped up the list because I’ve reached the end of everything I’ve ripped so far}
  • Catch up on emails from friends (some of which have been waiting over 2 months! Sorry)
  • Contact the people I’ve found via LongTimeLost.com
  • Browse through the pile of URLs I’ve been bookmarking to “check this out when I get time”
  • Call the dentist :(
  • Find a car insurance broker and start investigating how many arms & legs it’s going to cost
  • Finish reading The Tipping Point (Worst. Book. Ever.)
  • Get further through Agile Retrospectives (full of good ideas)
  • Make a start on Extreme Programming Explained
  • Update my F1 points tables following the race last weekend
  • Work out why WatchThatPage.com can’t see my blog
  • …And then there’s my long-standing list of To Dos that I never seem to make much progress on
