European Grand Prix – practice
Friday Practice Session 1:
Bridgestone have brought medium and soft compound tyres for the weekend
FA gets all steamed up behind FM – FA cuts a corner to get ahead of the Ferrari, slows down to let him come past, then sits inches from his rear wing along the main straight. Very childish.
GF runs wide and heads off into the gravel
LH 1:33.149
KR 1:32.751
LH 1:32.515
Friday Practice Session 2:
There was rain between the two practice sessions – the track is still a little damp in places
Apparently wet tyres now count against the weekend allocation – previously these had been unlimited
JB 1:56.537
LH 1:41.236
GF, on dry tyres, is having to fight the Renault round the track even though he’s well off the pace

Yellow flags are out as the Spyker is lifted out of the kitty litter
GF locks up into Turn 1 and runs a bit wide
VL off track briefly as the Toro Rosso understeers
HK suffers the same fate in the same corner just moments later

LH, on soft tyres, loses the tail in the same corner as VL & HK, but LH does a full (but slow) 360° and rejoins
KR 1:33.339
1min left
VL runs onto the gravel but keeps his foot in and makes it back to the track
