From the Security Mentor blog:

You almost certainly have it installed as a browser plugin: it’s what makes those animated ads work.

It also has serious security vulnerabilities that could allow your computer to be taken over if you visit the wrong web site (or if a legitimate web site displays the wrong ads).

See Adobe’s instructions for installing the Flash patch.

Adobe’s Security bulletin: Flash Player update available to address security vulnerabilities says the affected software versions: Adobe Flash Player 9.0.48.0 and earlier, 8.0.35.0 and earlier, and 7.0.70.0 and earlier, and it affects all platforms.

Basically, no matter whether you’re on Windows, Linux or Mac, upgrade to 9.0.115.0 now!
