I’m glad the LJ plugin problem is fixed and I can start blogging again, but there are a few WordPress config things I still want to sort out:

  1. find out why the RSS (syndication) isn’t working – I thought was automatically enabled with WP
  2. plugin to auto-post new additions to my Flickr site
  3. add IM info to the Contact page
  4. plugin to auto-echo public posts in my LiveJournal
  5. plugin to auto-echo updates to my Last.FM playlist
  6. replace the default blogroll list with a few useful/important sites, e.g. BBC news, F1, Twitter status
  7. plugin to auto-echo Facebook updates

Of course the most important part of a blog is the content, so I need to get back into the swing of posting here. I’ve been using Twitter a lot recently so don’t be surprised if some of my blog posts are brief :)

Once I’ve got most things working here, I’ll update our other blogs with the plugins etc.

  2. 1) RSS *is* enabled – there’s just no syndication info with the theme I’m using. If I go back to the Default theme, I can see Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS).

  4. 1) copied over the RSS-related line from the Default theme’s footer.php to the same file for the RedStamp theme.

  6. With your wishlist, you better check out the “lifestream” plugin for WordPress or one of the themes that has one integrated… (check my site, I just dropped my previous theme for one that has lifestream-integration…)

Another option is to drop WP and switch to Sweetcron.

  8. Thanks Jan – Lifestream looks promising, and your website is similar to what I had in mind, so I’ll try it out today.

  10. Well, the Lifestream plugin was OK but fitting it into my theme was painful, so I’ve swapped to the Agregado theme which handles it all automagically.

There’s a problem with the Archive (runs out of memory!) and I want to change the colours & background, but other than that it’s working well.

  12. Oh, and I want to change the “Find me elsewhere” box to be chronological rather than grouped … but I can’t find a setting for that.
