Blog changes

I don’t write in this blog as often as I used to, or as much as I should; I’m using Twitter a lot, so my few blog posts are being drowned out by the noise of tweets. I still want to keep a “lifestream” (all my micro-blog/photo/music posts) here, but I feel the need to separate them out.

I was also looking at other people using the Agregado theme and they all look the same, so I thought about pulling some parts out of that theme and writing my own … but that’s too much like hard work! :)

I was looking at Darren Hoyt’s site (one of the creators of Agregado) and I like the way he’s organised things, so I’m thinking about adopting something like that.

Anyway, I’m going to have a look “behind the scenes” at some other blogs I like and see what I can come up with; this might mean you’ll see the Maintenance Mode page a bit while I’m investigating and trying things out, but hopefully it’ll result in a better blog.

If you’ve got suggestions/recommendations then please leave me a comment or drop me an email.

Oh, and yes I do know the Archives page is broken; I’ve talked to the hosting company and it looks like I’ve hit their PHP memory limit so I’m not sure what to do about it. I don’t want to cut things from the archive, or change host, so I’m hoping I can find a smarter archive plugin.

Get it under control!
