Paul Henman Photography
I recently renamed my photoblog – it’s now PaulHenmanPhotography.com – and I’ve created a related Facebook group.
I’ll continue doing my monthly round up of my photos here but that site/group will be for a select few shots.
Backup, backup, backup
Hopefully everyone who owns a computer (laptop or PC, Windows, Linux or Mac) is already backing up properly but if you’re not, now is the time to start!
A lot of people talk about a 3-2-1 strategy and that’s what I do too: 3 copies of each critical file using 2 media and 1 off-site. But what does that mean? Firstly, decide which files are critical – for me that’s my photographs and some other documents, as well as emails and files I use on my websites. I tend to have a guide: if I can recover/recreate the file from another source (e.g. original CDs for software and music, or download the info from someone’s website) then I don’t usually bother backing it up, but if in doubt I’ll include it. Photo updates, December 2010
I haven’t shot much since November’s round-up – I’ve even been out with my camera and yet I’ve still only taken a few photos. Mind you, I did start another Flickr group – it’s a weekly themed challenge called “Word of the Week” … and treated myself to a new Canon 7D body! It’s first real outing will the the TOPW Hair of the Dog walk on Saturday
- Toronto Photo Walks: Yorkville, including the Santa Speedo Run and a little wine tasting!
Don’t forget to check out what Flickr calls my “most interesting” photos and my other albums, as well as my monthly round up posts.
If you’ve only got time to look at one or two photos, check out my “best of” photoblog @ PaulHenmanPhotography.com – I only post one picture per week (sometimes less!), so I try to pick a recent shot that I really like.
And if you’re interested in exploring Toronto with your camera, check out TorontoPhotoWalks.ca (we’re on Flickr and Facebook too!).
