Net Neutrality

The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and US government in general have a disproportionate control over the Internet, so even though this should only be of interest to Americans it’s something which will no doubt impact us all … but we have no voice in these proceedings.

From Wikipedia:

On January 31, 2015, AP News reported the FCC will present the notion of applying (“with some caveats”) Title II (common carrier) of the Communications Act of 1934 to the internet in a vote expected on February 26, 2015.[38][39][40][41][42] Adoption of this notion would reclassify internet service from one of information to one of telecommunications [43] and, according to Tom Wheeler, chairman of the FCC, ensure net neutrality.[44][45]

All we can do is hope they’ll make the right decision (to ensure net neutrality) and then hopefully Canada will follow suit.
