Honda Indy Toronto is coming soon

This year’s Honda Indy Toronto (HIT) runs July 15th to 17th. There’s been a few changes to the circuit (so far?), the biggest of which is moving the pit lane to the opposite side of the track (now on drivers’ left) running from turn 9 to the main straight just after turn 11. Multiple turns in the pit lane could make it more dangerous, so the grandstands which overlook it could be a good choice if you’re thinking of going. Turn 3, although unchanged, has its share of excitement including RC Enerson going airborne in last year’s Indy Lights race [video] … just after I’d moved to a different corner.

I’m lucky enough to be shooting the HIT weekend again; it’ll be my 7th year shooting for them. Here are a few of my favourites, one per year:

Flickr albums from HIT 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.

I went up to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend in 2014 and again this year, to blow off the cobwebs before HIT:

(I’ll probably write a separate post about last weekend’s Mosport shoot.)

I’m looking forward to another busy, grimy weekend of shooting this year’s HIT – hopefully I’ll get some good shots.
