Photo updates, November 2025

The past few months have been busy but November was crazy because we moved house and I was in Sault Ste. Marie for a week.

  • Mini-photowalk in the Soo
I was up in Sault Ste. Marie on business so I stayed an extra couple of nights so that I could go on a photowalk with one of my colleagues. We started at Camera Craft to see the World Photographic Cup exhibition, where we learned that the main street was being closed off for Halloween on Queen. We headed down to Purvis Marine to shoot some boats; we were going to walk east but didn’t get far before we were invited to have a closer look at Killarney Air Services‘ bushplane, a DeHavilland Beaver. From there we went east along the waterfront, past the John Rowswell hub trail monument, and on to the Dr. Roberta Bondar statue. (She is Canada’s first female astronaut, having been a payload specialist on STS-42, the Space Shuttle Discovery mission in 1992.) We continued a little further on the hub trail but then turned north on St.Mary’s River Drive and up to Queen Street where we wandered east to see lots of people in halloween costumes. We drove over to the Canal District for lunch at the Blockhouse Pub and sample some of Soo Falls Brewing Company‘s beer😀 After lunch I walked around Whitefish Island on my own, where I was almost close enough to touch the border with the USA.

  • TOPW: 16th Anniversary
I missed one TOPW photowalk this month but I couldn’t miss our 16th Anniversary walk! We met in Union Station, where security started to look a bit concerned as we swelled to well over 60 people – some regulars, some newbies, and some people we’ve not seen in a while. I didn’t take many shots because I was busy chatting as we made our way down to Queens Quay and then looped around to come back up through Berczy Park and end up at The Jason George for lunch. I may have be “forced” to make a quick stop P.J. O’Brien on the way😀 After lunch Ken, Mark & I headed over to C’est What to check out 17 Bitter Years As Neighbours on tap!
