Last year I posted monthly round-ups of my photos to my LiveJournal – here they are: starting in late May, June (and a little of July), July, August, September, October, November and December. (There’s also a “Round-up of 2008” on my Flickr account here.) I haven’t done any photo updates for this year yet, so […]
I’ve just upgraded to TweetDeck v0.24.2b* and it now has the option to post to Facebook as well as (or instead of) Twitter, which means I no longer need to have my tweets auto-echo as my Facebook status.
I’m sure some people are tired of hearing me complain about my ongoing job search, but I thought I should share the resources I use because more and more people are finding themselves in the same situation. Some of them are tech-specific or Ontario/Toronto-specific, but I’ll try to separate those out.
Wednesday was the 8th anniversary of me moving to Canada. In some ways it doesn’t seem that long but in other ways it feels like forever since I lived in England. So what do I miss? Friends and family, of course; real beer; watching motor sports (F1, BTCC) live; driving on the correct side of […]
Aha! I have an excuse! 🙂 This week (the second week of March) is National Procrastination Week, as I was just reminded by the Slacker Manager’s post. I’m sure there’s a lot more I could say about this, but I’ll do that later… 🙂
I’ve dropped the “life stream” focused Agregado theme in favour of MistyLook, mainly because I’m refocusing my blog away from simply aggregating my other feeds. I’ve installed a new plugin in my blog: LiveJournal Crossposter. It should automatically re-post this to my LiveJournal account but I’ve configured it so that all comments must be on the original blog post. I’ve also configured it
I was just listening to Net@Night episode 90: Leo and Sarah were comparing Firefox plugins and I thought I should share my list. It’s significantly longer than their lists, but then more is better, right? 🙂 Block the nasty people: Adblock Plus, firephorm, NoScript, SSL Blacklist Pretty up Firefox: All-in-one Sidebar, ColorfulTabs Pretty up websites: […]
It’s an oldie but it’s still true – if you insist on “communicating” through paperwork, this is what happens. Try talking directly; keep talking and demonstrating all the way through development, and you’ll actually give your customer what they want. (Click on image for a larger version) If you want to learn more about Agile […]
I’ve turned off the Daily Digest in Twitter Tools, so you won’t see a “Twitter Updates for (date)” post each day. The individual “tweets” will still appear in the “Find me Elsewhere” section, but the daily digest is drowning my real posts … as few and far between as they are. I still use Twitter […]
