A long post this time for all sorts of reasons!
- The March update only covered one photowalk because I hadn’t posted the rest of my March shots – it took me a long time to edit my shots from the Marillion Weekend in Montreal, partly because of how many I took
- There was no April’s update because I was still working on my photo-processing backlog (there was nothing new to post)
- I finally caught up in May, but I skipped a photowalk due to house hunting and that’s likely to persist a bit longer.
So let’s get straight to the photos…
- TOPW: Spring’s Just Around The Corner
The mid-March photowalk was a wet one but fortunately Vicki led us through some covered/indoor areas and when we ended at the Town Crier pub we could dry out.
- Marillion Weekend, Montreal – Friday: “An Audience With Marillion”, Lifesigns, Lucid Street
The weekend kicked off with a Q&A session with the band, which is always amusing. Lifesigns were good (very prog) and then Lucid Street did a mix of covers and original songs.

- Marillion Weekend, Montreal – Saturday: Randy McStine, Marillion
When we saw Randy McStine support Marillion in 2022 it was a solo set, so seeing him with a band was great. Marillion played most of Marbles, which is one of my favourite albums.

- Marillion Weekend, Montreal – Sunday: R&D (Rick Armstrong and Dave Foster), Marillion
R&D was very noodly, which I like to listen to but it didn’t really build the crowd up in anticipation of Marillion coming on. Fortunately Marillion fans don’t need any encouragement to get excited about anticipating the band.

- TOPW: What’s old is Yonge again
Nancy led this photowalk on which we headed south down part of Yonge Street, spotting some old buildings (or reminders of them) in between all the condos.
- TOPW: Hippity Hop around the big block walk
Starting at Yonge & Eglinton we looped around to end at the Rose and Crown, just a few yards north from our start point.
- TOPW: Spring Walk Centre Island
TOPW headed over to Centre Island on the ferry and wandered around in search of cherry blossoms, then headed east to catch the ferry back from Ward’s Island.
